nopixel V: for the first time, Rockstar officially partners with an RP server

Published on

For years, the GTA/FiveM roleplay scene grew up on the margins of Rockstar, carried by community studios and third-party frameworks. On September 1, 2026, Rockstar Games changed that by announcing nopixel V, a brand-new GTA 5 roleplay server built in direct collaboration with NoPixel Studios — an official first for the genre.

What was announced

  • Rockstar describes nopixel V as “the next evolution of the GTA 5 roleplay community,” featuring 1,000 ownable properties and new map modifications.
  • The closed beta runs through the Rockstar Games Launcher, initially limited to invited streamers, who began broadcasting on September 8, 2026. Access is meant to expand gradually “through further phases of invites.”
  • NoPixel Studios keeps running its existing servers — NoPixel Public and NoPixel 4.0 — which are unaffected by this launch.
  • Rockstar quotes NoPixel Studios: “collaboration with Rockstar Games has been an important part of bringing this release to life.”

GTA RP Week on Twitch

To mark the launch, Twitch is running GTA RP Week from September 8 to 30, 2026: by watching invited streamers on nopixel V, viewers can unlock in-game rewards (from GTA$ cash to a Burger Shot tracksuit), brand-new global emotes, a dedicated chat badge, and collectible cards through a custom GTA V extension. Streamers such as koil and buddha are among the week’s headliners.

What this changes — and doesn’t — for us

To be clear about one thing: nopixel V runs on Rockstar’s own infrastructure, not on FiveM. It isn’t a platform our scripts and MLOs can be installed on, and it doesn’t replace the FiveM/RedM ecosystem KEOPS Studios builds for.

What matters to us is the signal it sends: for the very first time, Rockstar is officially recognizing and backing a community roleplay project at this scale. That’s a major validation for the whole RP genre — the same genre our customers bring to life every day on their own FiveM and RedM servers. We’ll keep watching this closely, especially for any word from Rockstar on the future of FiveM-style third-party modding.

Accurate as of September 15, 2026, based on official announcements from Rockstar Games and NoPixel Studios.
