Overview
KS-Postal makes the post office the hub of correspondence between characters. At the window, a player writes a telegram, picks the recipient, pays the fee based on word count and sends it; the recipient is notified even if they were out of town, and comes to the counter to read their mail. Every sensitive operation requires actually standing at the window, with distance checked by the server.
A message can leave the mailbox to become a unique item, read as a printed dispatch and kept, given away or produced as evidence. Citizens can also write to public services: sheriff’s offices, police and doctors check a shared mailbox and reply in their service’s name. The old VORP mail system can be imported without loss, and its old table is never modified or deleted.
